Travel Stroller Systems

Our loyal customers may not realize it, but S&D offers more than just kids uniforms and backpacks. We stock a full range of kid-related products. Strollers are one of the products we have featured the least on our blog, and it is time to showcase our extensive stroller selection.

Travel systems are by far some of the most practical and popular strollers available, and we offer several different varieties. A travel system will consist of a car seat and matching stroller. The stroller can be a larger, more durable bassinet style or it can be a lightweight folding stroller. Usually a travel system will have a convenient feature that allows you to attach a car seat directly into a stroller frame, meaning you do not need to move the child around, allowing for a more seamless car experience.

Travel stroller systems have two main features to look for. The first is the type of built-in car seat it comes with. Is the seat meant to face the driver or face the rear of the car? Make sure the stroller you buy offers a seating style that you prefer. The second is weight and folding style. If you have a small car or carry a lot of other stuff around, having a stroller that folds flat is important–not all models do.

What to Look for in a Kid’s Backpack

Kids can be endlessly picky.  They hate vegetables, won’t stop watching TV and do not want to be seen with their parents after the age of ten. Fair enough, but when you have to buy these little monsters a new everything every 12 months, the pickiness quickly gets to wear on you. Why not buy them things that they won’t be quickly tired of, like a North Face backpack?  North Face makes many different styles of packpack that are kid-approved and ready for school day adevntures. The North Face Jester model is just one such pack that comes to mind. With it’s large capacity and the technical hiking look of the North Face Jester, it is likely to satisfy tweenaged boys and girls everywhere.

If the North Face Jester doesn’t fit the bill, at least keep a few things in mind when purchasing your child’s backpack. Such as how long will it last? Is this pack well made enough to get your kid at least a couple of years? Also consider fit and how your child is going to wear it. jansport backpackA lot of backpack manufacturers seem to make products that fall into two categories: tiny ones for your five-year-old and one size for everyone else. This can be a bit of a nuisance as your child starts to grow. All their books will definitely not fit in those Hannah Montana backpacks that are about a foot long, but you don’t want them to tip over with a standard size. Kids essentially have to grown into the bag. But what you can do is choose one that isn’t as bulky.

There have been studies for years and years trying to pinpoint what exactly will give kids the best advantages and opportunities to learn in school. There are comprehensive lists of how to best prepare children for a day of school and the consensus is, good sleep, good nutrition, good tools.
